Mastectomy with Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy (SLNB)

219,000 THB | Expiry Date 15 July 2026

A surgical procedure used in the treatment of breast cancer to remove breast tissue while accurately assessing whether cancer has spread to nearby lymph nodes

What Is Mastectomy with Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy?

A mastectomy involves the removal of all or part of the breast tissue affected by cancer. During the same operation, a sentinel lymph node biopsy (SLNB) is performed to identify and remove the first lymph node(s) to which cancer cells are most likely to spread.

Only these sentinel nodes are examined. If no cancer is found, further lymph node surgery may not be necessary, reducing the risk of complications.

Conditions Treated

This procedure is commonly recommended for patients with:

1.Early-stage breast cancer

2.Invasive breast cancer

3.Ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) requiring mastectomy

4.Breast cancer without obvious lymph node involvement

Benefits of Mastectomy with SLNB

1.Accurate staging of breast cancer

2.Lower risk of lymphedema compared to full lymph node dissection

3.Reduced surgical trauma and faster recovery

4.Effective cancer control

5.Improved quality of life after surgery
